Do you feel emotionally stuck sometimes? Do you wonder why you’re still feeling lost or angry about a recent change in your employment status? If so, you will benefit greatly from understanding why the STAGES of Transition are important to you based on where you are right NOW. Many of the tools in this book are there to help you get oriented to being in this in between state. In between jobs, in between identity. What stays the same, is you.
There are 3 stages to each transition and they have some specific feeling states attached to each one.

Each stage serves a specific purpose in the healing process. Learning to manage the feeling states identified in the 3rd column of each phase is part of the healing work. We move through transitions when we effectively deal with the feelings and the action that they prompt.
Understanding and accepting these emotional states can provide a road map for you when you reach a crossroads on the journey and wonder “where do I go next?” The stages are based on the work of William Bridges, The Stages of Transition.
